May 6, 2009 - Lodge #35 Members at the Tennessee State Capitol
On May 6, 2009, F.O.P Members from all over the state, met at the Tennessee State Capitol to help raise awareness and gain sponsorship of F.O.P. supported bills. Lodge #35 Members visited with several members of the 106th General Assembly, including State Senator Jim Kyle (Senate District 28), State Representative Curry Todd (95th District), State Representative Ron Lollar (99th District), State Representative Jim Coley (97th District), and State Representative Jimmy Eldridge (73rd District). On the Agenda were several bills concerning Law Enforcement Officers ability to carry firearms, and items concerning the enforcement of HR218 (The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004) at the state level.

Pictured above (from left to right) is Lodge #35 Member - John Troup, Lodge #35 President - Danny Renshaw, Lodge #35 Trustee (and Bartlett Alderman) - Bobby Simmons, Tennessee State Representative Curry Todd (95th District), and Lodge #35 State Trustee - Claude Berry. Representative Todd is a Long-Time supporter of the Tennessee F.O.P. and Law Enforcement, and is also a retired member of The Memphis Police Department. Once again, Representative Todd took time out of his busy legislative agenda to meet with Lodge #35's delegation. Even House Speaker Kent Williams stopped by and sat in on the meeting. Lodge #35 would like to thank Representative Todd for his hospitality during our visit to the Tennessee Capitol.
